By which I mean I’m on the internet now! With a fancy personal blog nonetheless!

Why A Blog?

I think the internet is really cool! In fact, it’s actually so cool that lots of greedy evil little fuckers have been milking it for as much profit as humanly possible!

Using modern social media feels exploitative and transient. I want a way to interact with the internet that’s existence isn’t directly tied to some company’s ad revenue. I want something a bit more permanent and a bit more kind.

I think having some sort of personal blog is a really neat way to share and remember ideas. I also like the idea of watching this small blog grow and change with me as I grow and change. Like a houseplant. But harder to kill. I guess.

I also want to have an excuse to write! Writing is really hard, but I find it extremely rewarding. A blog seems a good way to practice.
